Demon's Souls has a really neat online mechanic. Basically you can see ghosts of everyone else online, and you can leave messages to other players. Also when someone dies they leave a blood stain which can replay the last 15 seconds of their life. And thankfully because its on PS3 it isn't too crowded with ghosts, blood and messages =)
